Join Hawaii Pet Magazine at the 2008 Petwalk on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Ala Moana/Magic Island Beach Park for the one-day a year that you can bring your pets to Magic Island!
Put on your walking shoes and bring the family (including pets!) to PetWalk 2008 at Magic Island. Form a team, gather pledges early and join us at Magic Island park for a fun-filled morning supporting the Hawaiian Humane Society. Registration opens at 7:00 am, the PetWalk begins at 8:00 am. All dogs must be on a leash.
Stay for refreshments and the popular pet costume contest. Stop by the Hawaii Pet Magazine booth for free magazine and information about our cover model contest.

Howl-o-ween Dog Costume Contest
11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Koko Marina Center, Hawaii Kai
Join Bark Avenue and Hawaii Pet Magazine for a canine costume contest for our canine friends. Contest registration will start at 11 am with the costume contest commencing at 12 noon and ending at 1 pm.
Judges will choose winners in several categories including best group costume, best dog & owner costume, spookiest and best trick for a treat. The best overall costume will win the grand prize. Dogs will receive a free trick-or-treat bag of goodies just for entering the contest (while supplies last).
In addition to category prizes, all winners will be featured in a centerfold in the November /December issue of Hawaii Pet Magazine. Although there is no cost to enter, contestants are encouraged to bring a donation for the Hawaii Dog Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Hawaii's homeless dogs.

The Hawaii Dog Foundation will also be on-hand to hold a meet and greet with dogs that are looking for homes. Dr. Yoon and the staff at Hawaii Kai Veterinary Clinic will be offering free wellness exams to HDF dogs that are adopted at the event.
Pacific Paws will be providing discounted pet-icures (nail trims) at their booth. They will host doggie games such as 'bobbing for hot dogs' outside of their shop and they are offering 10% off grooming services for all dogs who visit them in costume on the day of the event.
Finally, all attendees will be invited on a 'Trick-or-Doggie-Treat' walk around the mall. Maps of participating merchants will be handed out the day of the event.
